Yoga Teacher Training Begins October 24, 2026!
An Amazing Journey Awaits
The Teacher Training program at the Tree of India School of Yoga is designed not only to certify new yoga teachers, but to guide committed students into a deeper, transformative relationship with yoga—both as a personal path and as a way to serve others.

What to expect
The Tree of India School of Yoga offers an immersive and transformative training experience rooted in the living tradition of yoga as taught through the lineage of Swami Kripalvananda. Trainees can expect a balance of intellectual study, embodied practice, and inner reflection designed to integrate yoga into all aspects of life.
The training blends in-person weekend immersions, guided personal practice, group discussion, and individual mentorship, creating a rich and supportive learning environment. Each session weaves together asana, pranayama, meditation, mantra, philosophy, anatomy, and the art of teaching—always emphasizing yoga as a path of self-realization and compassionate service. Rather than focusing solely on technique, the experience invites students to slow down, listen inward, and awaken their innate wisdom. Trainees are encouraged to approach practice as a sacred inquiry: to observe, to feel, to question, and to grow. Graduates often describe the training as life-changing—a time of personal evolution that deepens not only their practice, but their understanding of what it means to live yoga in the modern world.

Style/Lineage
Tree of India School of Yoga is rooted in the Kripalu tradition of Swami Kripalvananda, a tantric hatha yoga tradition emphasizing self-observation, compassionate awareness, and the awakening of prana through disciplined practice. Our style blends classical hatha yoga with mindful, meditative movement, breathwork, and introspective awareness, allowing each practitioner to explore yoga as both a physical and spiritual discipline. Classes and training sessions are taught in a spirit of inquiry and reverence for tradition while remaining accessible to modern practitioners of all levels. Through the integration of asana, pranayama, mudra, bandha, mantra, and meditation, students are guided to develop strength, stability, and clarity—ultimately learning to use the body as a gateway to the higher dimensions of consciousness.

Thinking about Teacher Training? Read what our recent graduates have to say...
I’m honored, grateful, and proud to have graduated as a certified yoga teacher today. Jessica is an immensely kind, knowledgeable, thorough mentor who’s created a welcoming space to learn, grow, and unfurl into the truest version of myself yet! When I took the leap to sign up for training, I knew that I wanted to expand my knowledge and understand more about traditional yoga. I did not comprehend the growth I would undergo in every other area of my life: most of all, my compassion and understanding for myself and others. It’s been a beautiful start to a long journey. Jai Bhagwan!
